How do I make a booking?

First of all, select the entertainment you like and either submit an online enquiry or give us a call on 01934 820371. We’ll talk with you and get to know you and what you are looking for. We will discuss everything you need to know and supply you with a quote. Once you’re completely happy, we’ll issue a booking contract to you and the artist. You then pay a small deposit which can be made by BACS, internet transfer or cheque.

In most cases, the remaining balance is payable directly to the artist on the day of the event however, you can make payment in advance if you prefer and we hold your payment for security in our ‘client’ account, releasing payment to the artist only after the event.

Up to 6 weeks before the event, we will make contact and go through the last-minute details, checking everything is still the same or make any alterations to ensure your event runs smoothly.

What are the benefits from booking with Richer Music?
  • We are an established business that has been working with acts and clients for 8 years. We are reliable and only work with high-quality and professional entertainment.
  • We contract all bookings which secures your act and the booking for our artists. All your requirements are met when you fill out the contract and it is legally binding which means that an act can not pull out at last minute.
  • Consultancy service which takes the hassle out of booking. We take the times to talk to you about your entertainment requirements and we will help you find the right act for you.
Can I see the act before I book?

In most cases, this isn’t possible as most of our acts provide entertainment for weddings and private events. However, please ask as it may be that the act is playing at a local public event that you may be able to go to. All of our acts get booked up quickly so it is much better that you look at their promotional material, reviews and descriptions to decide on whether it is an act you would like to go for.

What songs will the band play?

The band will play a selection of songs from the band’s repertoire list. They are also happy to learn a special song at no extra cost.

What size performance area will you need?

With live bands we usually recommend a 1m x 1m square area per band member as a rule of thumb, however, each band is unique and has its own unique set of requirements. For all types of acts please give us a call and we can answer more specifically based on the act in question.

Will AN ARTIST pERFORM our first dance?

Of course! If you could send us your first dance song, then if it is musically possible, our acts are always happy to learn it for your event.

Do acts need food and drink?

Hot food and drink are always a polite request. The acts do not expect a Michelin star meal but just something to keep them going as acts often end up working for 12 hours on most events.

How long does it take to setup?

It usually takes bands and DJs an hour, without a soundcheck, or if more time is available, then an hour and a half is preferred. Other acts are different and unique to their own show so please get in touch and we can advise you more specifically.

How many power points do a band need?

A band will need at least 3 power points in order to plug in a PA system and lighting as well as Amps and other equipment.

What do I need to do if I wish to cancel or change my booking?

Sometimes clients are faced with an unfortunate situation where they need to cancel a booking.  Please be assured that if you need to cancel a booking, we are always happy to talk with you and discuss your circumstances.

Re-arranging a booking

Re-arranging a booking is possible but it is still technically a cancellation. The difference is that often an artist won’t charge a cancellation fee to re-arrange a booking providing they’re available on the date you want to swap to and you’re not re-arranging with such short notice that they have no chance of re-filling the old date.

We have experienced this a lot this year (2020) due to the coronavirus pandemic. Most of our clients have rescheduled at no extra cost as this is classed as a force majeure event.

All bookings are legally bound by a contract and so there are consequences to you cancelling. A cancellation fee will be due from you to the artist if the reason for you cancelling your booking is not covered by a ‘force majeure event’, and if the artist is unable to secure another booking of equal value for your event date. If the artist is able to secure another booking of equal value for your cancelled event date, you will not owe any cancellation fees.
